Edward FitzGerald letter to My dear sir, circa 1880?

FitzGerald writes to My dear sir, an undated letter probably from circa 1880, mentioning the recipient's aunt, Mrs. Kemble, had sent FitzGerald a book of plays by the recipient's uncle so that Aldis Wright could see it; she requested the volume be returned to the recipient. He goes on to relate he never sees a new play, but often thinks of those he has seen. Includes typed transcription.

Edward FitzGerald was an English author and translator, best known for his popular translation of The Rubáiyát. Born Edward Marlborough Purcell into one of the wealthiest families in England, the family name was changed when his mother inherited her family fortune. He was educated at Oxford University, after which he travelled constantly for a time and wrote poetry, as well as translating verse from several languages.
